I am always willing to discuss treatment options to assist you make the best choice to meet your needs. I work with you to address your mental health concerns.
Initially, I trained as a counsellor in the UK and volunteered with community-based services in South-East London. Since returning to Australia with my family in 1996, I completed psychology training at Charles Sturt University and the University of Sydney. I have worked in the Blue Mountains, Western Sydney, the Central Coast, and the city since 2000 as a counsellor, health educator and psychologist. I have worked for NSW Health, TAFE NSW, Not for Profit Organisations and in Private Practice.
I am well regarded by colleagues having researched and written original material for the Teens section of the Raising Children Network (RCN) website (www.raisingchildren.net.au) and provide quality assurance reviews for the RCN and the Parenting Research Centre. I have also worked as a contractor for the NSW Institute of Psychiatry (NSW IOP) on their Master level course in Clinical Supervision. In 2016 I wrote a training module for paediatric nursing staff on Youth Self-Harm and Suicide for NSW IOP. Since 2016 I marked final Clinical Supervision recordings of future Clinical Psychology Supervisors. I have published papers in peer review journals on dual diagnosis and adolescent alcohol use. I have presented at international and national conferences on parenting, drug use and dual diagnosis.
I currently have approval from Westmead Hospital Ethics Committee to conduct research about the effectiveness of biofeedback in reducing post-meal distress, for individuals with eating disorders.
I am a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and registered with Medicare, DVA and WorkCover NSW. I am also an Australian Psychology Board Approved Supervisor for psychologists.
